MLK Old School Concert

Lauderhill takes you on a captivating journey into a vibrant and diverse community that honors the legacy of the great civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Experience the spirit of unity and equality as Lauderhill comes alive with inspiring events and activities designed to unite people. This month-long celebration consists of a scholarship given to kids in need for college, a Spelling Bee, the MLK Brain Bowl, and the MLK Old School Concert.

For this year, the MLK old-school concert featured SWV Blackstreet and Maxi Priest. The one-day event was promoted heavily and attracted people from all over South Florida.

Email

We’ve found that email communication is an incredibly effective way to connect with our rapidly expanding audience, which now includes our resident database of over 13,000 individuals, our Lauderhill performing arts database, and various media partners. As part of our efforts to promote the MLK event, I contacted multiple media outlets, including radio stations, bloggers, social media influencers, and newspapers, among others.

In preparation for the MLK Concert, we had a specific target for ticket sales. To achieve this goal, we implemented a targeted email campaign, reaching out to individuals who have previously attended concerts featuring artists similar to those inspired by MLK. The following email was carefully crafted, featuring a link to purchase tickets and an enticing subject line to capture the audience’s attention.
